Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans
North Texas Chapter
The Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans, North Texas Chapter is a non-profit organization, whose membership is composed of not only Vietnam Veterans, but other veterans from other wars as well, such as World War II, Korean War, Desert Storm, and now, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Our goals and purpose is to help all veterans and military members, regardless of war or branch of service, and whether or not they are still on active duty, retired, disabled, and to assist our community in any way we can.
Below are just a few of the many things that we do to help our community:
Provide an Annual Scholarship for some young person to Midwestern State University.
Sponsor and Support the Special Olympics.
Provided stuffed Teddy Bears to the Wichita Falls Police Department to give to young children.
Provide historical and educational presentations to schools and other organizations.
Participate in parades and local events.
Place flags on the graves of veterans on Memorial Day.
Sponsor and participate in "Support Our Troop Rally's" in various communities.
Participate in Flag Day ceremonies.
Work with the North Texas Veterans Council to help veterans of all services and wars.
Provide assistance and support in bring the traveling "Wall Experience" to Wichita Falls.
Provide assistance to the Sheppard Air Force Base Airmen's Attic to help lower ranking servicemen with many much needed items.
And many, many other things that help our veterans, our community, and our citizens.
